John Wayne is an Associate of Mackenzie Elvin specialising in litigation (both civil and criminal) and employment.
After graduating in 2008, John Wayne commenced his career working at a specialist litigation firm in Wellington where he spent almost six years developing advocacy skills in the areas of family, criminal, and civil law. In January 2014 he moved to Tauranga and worked for the litigation team at a corporate law firm until May 2017, when he joined Mackenzie Elvin.
John Wayne brings with him an extensive and broad range of litigation experience having appeared in the High Court, District Court, and specialist Tribunals such as the Employment Relations Authority, the Human Rights Review Tribunal, and the Sports Tribunal.
He works with clients with diverse backgrounds with a focus on the following areas of law:
- Commercial litigation
- Criminal defence
- Relationship property issues
